Phoenix Rising

The symbol for Equesta is the Phoenix, as seen on the heraldic device portrayed on this web site.
Womankind will always be the phoenix rising, triumphant and reborn. She gives and gives until giving itself consumes her, and all that seems left are ashes—but then she rises again, Nature's prodigy, empowered by Nature itself.
Here we see the spirit of Nature's at its finest, neither goddess nor slave, dedicated to life, to nourishing, protecting—adding beauty to a world otherwise deprived. That she perseveres despite all hardships, and often without help, and holds on to her ideals, glorifies what it means to be human far more than guns and bombs and systematic exploitation.
The spirit of woman recognizes the folly of men, and compensates to perpetuate the species just by being who she is. Steadfast. Forgiving. Her treasure trove of wisdom ever full, ever ready to soften and thereby protect humanity with the best of virtues. This is her greatest strength, ever present, yet hardly understood and appreciated.
In her eyes, men see the reflection of their own conscience; in her arms, children find the warmth and comfort that make them want to live; her friendships form a conspiracy of support and understanding.
Equesta recognizes and honors the complexity of women, complexity derived from intuition directly in tune with Nature's Law. We own a dimension of moral discernment that compliments, equals and often surpasses rational considerations. This is no weakness, it is a strength that needs to be valued.
We inherit so many of the miracles of life: the awareness, the innate drives and purpose of the moment, the vital connection with others, the drive of affirmation that makes the mundane qualities of life not only bearable but wonderfully pleasing. No amount of suppression and abuse, past or present, can obliterate this.

What could be stronger than that?
